We finally got our first social tournament under way. A good turnout of 20 players of varied levels at Junior and senior ages.

It was a timely practice before the forthcoming Rockhampton Open Tournament. Despite the cyclone warnings, players supported the tournament to have some fun and matchplay. The club appreciates the attendance…Well Done!  Some tough matches were seen on the day.  Winning Results are as follows: Group A Singles – Gary Walmsley ; Runner Up  – Terry Morato.   Group B Singles – Brett Sprunt.Runner Up  – Edward Forster. In the Group A semi finals, Sean Chun Tie had to dig deep to keep Gary Walmsley at bay. After a tactical 5 game match, Gary won the set. Great game guys!!  Luke Blucher narrowly defeated Morrie Bligh in the third round. Mark Patane and Ces Onrubia had some good wins on the day. Ersin Acar played well against Eliza Forster “the chopper”. Young Olav Dahl claimed a win over Eliza Forster in the first round. Kay Want put up a good effort despite playing with a new “old” bat. In the Group A Doubles, Sean Chun Tie & Luke  Blucher defeated Walter Parkes & Brett Sprunt in 4 games. In Group B Doubles, Olav Dahl & Ces Onrubia were Round Robin Winners. Aaron Dawes and Mark Patane were Runner Up. Edward Forster & Kay Want put up a good fight against Ces & Olav in the doubles. Sean Chun Tie won the player of the day prize. Various prizes were given on the day for winners and runner ups.
