2019 TTTA Calendar

The dates and times for all events, training sessions, tournaments and other activities are contained on the calendar. A few important matters to note:-
- Come & Try:
- The Get Active Expo is being held at the Townsville Stadium on Sunday, 13 January 2019.
- Our come and try day is being held on the immediately following Saturday, 19 January 2019.
- There is also a Defence Expo being held at Townsville Stadium on Saturday, 23 February 2019.
- Bunnings Sausage Sizzle: Our first Bunnings Sausage Sizzle for the year is being held on Sunday, 20 January 2019.
- Junior Training:
- There are 2 new Introductory Junior Training Lesson’s being included into this year’s junior training schedule. These introductory lessons will be for 1 hour only and are designed for entry level players as an introduction into our sport.
- The junior training sessions for 2019 are as follows:-
- Monday Junior Training 4 to 7 pm
- Wednesday Junior Training 5 to 6:30 pm
- Thursday Introductory Junior Training Lesson 4 to 5 pm
- Friday Junior Training 4 to 6 pm
- Saturday Introductory Junior Training Lesson 9 to 10 am
- Saturday Junior Training 10 to 12 pm
- Saturday Junior Training 1 to 4 pm
- Senior / Women’s Training: Senior training remains unaltered at 6:30 to 8 pm on Friday’s and women’s training also remains unaltered from 1 to 2:30 pm on Saturday’s
- Social Seniors: There are also no changes to the senior training at 6-7:30 pm on Thursday’s. Social Senior fixture time allocations remains unaltered.
- Senior Fixtures: The senior fixtures pre-season ranking night will be on Wednesday, 16 January 2019.There are four fixture seasons in 2019, each of a duration of around 10 weeks. To nominate to participate in season one fixtures please email Brendan Gaeta on [email protected]. Entry’s close on Monday, 14 January 2019. Divisions 1 and 2 will be teams. Division 3 will be determined based on the number of entries received. All players will participate in the pre-season ranking night.
- Tournaments:
- All tournaments are included in the calendar. The same tournaments held in 2018 will also be held in 2019.
- A new tournament will also be introduced on Thursday, 4 April 2019 to celebrate International Table Tennis Day.
- The first tournament of 2019 is the Chinese New Year Tournament, being held on Saturday, 2 February 2019. Details of this tournament will be released in due course.
- The QLD Closed is also being held at our hall from 14 to 17 February 2019. The entry form for this tournament has been released to all members. Players enter into the singles events through the TTQ online registration portal. If anyone wishes to nominate to represent Townsville in the teams events then please submit your expression of interest to our Secretary, Zac Murphy on or before 23 January 2019 at [email protected]. All teams will be determined by the Committee in consultation with our Head Coach.
- TTQ Training Camps: The TTQ training camps are not included on the calendar at this stage. This will be included upon finalisation by TTQ.
- Other TTQ Dates:
- The Cadet Training Camp (Under 15) will be included in the calendar once finalised by TTQ. At this stage this is anticipated to be in Mackay at around 18-19 May (not confirmed).
- The Hopes Final (Under 12) will also be included in the calendar once finalised by TTQ. This will be held in South East Queensland in late 2019.
- The QLD Junior Team prep camp for the Nationals will also be included in the calendar once finalised by TTQ. This will also be held in South East Queensland in around June 2019.
