The recent Qld Veterans Tournament in Mackay put

big smiles on two of our seasoned players Morrie Bligh (Club Patron) and

Harry Bligh. Morrie achieved runner up in the over 70’s mens singles.

In the over 70’s mens doubles, Harry and Morrie were runner up. Great effort guys.

Harry and Coral Morgan won the over 70’s mixed doubles! Morrie and Blanche Bradshaw were runner up in the over 70’s mixed doubles.

Our veteran player John Sherriff partnered up with Karen Smith of Mackay to win the over 50’s mixed doubles title.

In addition, John did not stop there, John teamed up with Val Austin of Mackay to also win the over 60’s mixed doubles event.

The Townsville team won the Qld Mens Team Title. The team consisted of John Sherriff, Max Wellington, Gary Walmsley, Terry Morato.

It was a great effort by these guys.  These men now have the option to compete at the Australian National Championshiops this weekend.
